Greetings, my wicked darlings!
London Pride was an absolute scream. Thank you to everyone who came along. It was a ball, and while my liver, self-respect, and dignity were thoroughly destroyed on the dance floor, it was a truly memorable event.
To commemorate it, I released two queer horror stories as free downloads last month: Invasion of the Hipster Beards and The Coconut Killer.
I also released four more stories, which I’ve listed in more detail below: Til Death Do Us Part, A Civic Duty, A Taste of Sin and The Cold Dead Sea.
This month, I’ve got some chonky novellas for you. One is set during the Second World War. The other takes place in the far future. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you think of them.
Next month is the final month before the deadline for Tales of the Macabre, Vol. 5. That means three more stories, and then I’ll be using my new recording setup to produce free audiobooks, which I’ll mix in with my short stories and novellas.
I can’t wait to choose the stories for TotM 5.
Sweet screams,
Newt xx
Amazon is currently offering Tales of the Macabre, Vol. 1 for just £0.99 in the UK.
Sadly, the deal is UK-only. I don’t know if Jeff Bezos is still punishing Americans for that whole tea party business, but apparently the discount stops at the border.
Given the choice, I’d offer it to everyone.
A Taste of Sin
A Contemporary Urban Fantasy Horror Short Story
Eat the soul, steal the skin. Maeve thought she was the only fetch in London until a chance encounter revealed the truth.
Til Death Do Us Part
A Renaissance Folk Horror Short Story
On the eve of her wedding, Elizabeth, a terrified bride-to-be, accepts a devilish bargain to have a mysterious stranger marry her loathsome groom.
A Civic Duty
A Contemporary Psychological Horror Short Story
In a picturesque English village, Lenny, a portly semi-retired private detective, must face his past.
The Cold Dead Sea
A World War 2 Occult Horror Short Story
Ignatius Barnes, a downed RAF pilot in WWII, discovers a secret Nazi U-boat pen, only to find there are far worse things than Germans.

I read eight books in June. It’s been an excellent month, but really, the highlights were once again, mostly Ash Ericmore (six Ash books this month!):
Rideshare by James Kaine and Timothy King: I’ve been a huge Timothy King fan since Seven Rabbits. Rideshare is a superb collection of four interwoven stories. It had me so hooked that not only did I hoover it up, but since then, I’ve started on a full blown James Kaine binge, reading Devil of the Pines (truly magnificent!) and Mischief Night which is also exceptional already.
Kitten Club Monstrosity / Cure What Ails: A Double Feature of Horror Fiction by Ash Ericmore: Well, that’s a mouthful of a title. A novella double bill, with the first story being my favourite, but both were excellent. I have been working my way through the Double Feature series of Absolute Horror and am up to volume six now. I read five of them in June.
Candlegloom / The Moth Eater: A Double Feature of Horror Fiction: It’s hard to pick favourites from the six I’ve read so far, but I restricted myself to three, so them’s the breaks grumbles. The Moth Eater was superb and had a wonderful Ragman feel to it. While I really loved Candlegloom, The Moth Eater had a wonderful pulp noir feel to it that really stayed with me.
