Greetings, my wicked darlings!
Editing and formatting Tales of the Macabre, Vol. 5 has taken up a huge amount of time. I miss writing. This has been delaying my new stories as it’s all about TotM 5 right now.
I’m hoping that this month we’ll have a cover reveal. I’ve got the ISBNs sorted and the drafts in KDP and BookVault, but every time I read through, I find more mistakes.
I know I’ve said in interviews that the best way to find a typo is to send your manuscript off to beta readers and a line editor, and do multiple read throughs before hitting publish. Then turn to page 69 and you’ll blimming find one straight away, but this is driving me insane.
I’m doing the read aloud read through at the moment. Most of the errors are repetitions of words within close proximity, contractions either missing or used inappropriately, or words that could be cut.
We are getting there…

I think this might be the strongest lineup yet in the TotM series, and if I can polish off the final editing snafus, then I reckon it’ll be the new top rated anthology in my collection.
